Getting There from Here – Prose with Maureen Dunphy (Day Class): Online Zoom Workshops, Wednesdays, October 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8 & 15, 3pm-5pm. Begin—or return to—that writing project of your dreams, be it short or long fiction, memoir, or creative nonfiction.  Learn how to set writing goals that work for you and then discover the techniques that can help you achieve them.  Share works in progress with a supportive group while you practice using the paths employed by successful writers. Workshop is limited to 8 participants. Dunphy’s Great Lakes Island Escapes: Ferries and Bridges to Adventure is a 2017 Michigan Notable Book (Wayne State University Press).  Her juvenile nonfiction book All About the Great Lakes (Blue River Press, 2020) was released last year. Wayne State University Press will be publishing her next book in their Made in Michigan Writers Series.  Dunphy earned her MFA in fiction writing from Goddard College. She has also been published in Peninsula:  Essays and Memoirs from Michigan (Michigan State University Press, 2000) and in Between the Lines:  Writing What You Couldn’t Say (Plain View Press, 2000). She has taught creative writing courses at Oakland University, Oakland Community College-Orchard Ridge and the University of Windsor.  Owner of Dunphy Consulting Services, LLC, she is interested in helping you write your way into your future and offers coaching services for writers, writing workshops and retreats, assistance with book proposals and manuscripts, and editing services.
