Detroit Michigan Writers’ Retreat

Thomas Lux, Patricia Smith, Quincy Troupe
and Ed Hirsch are coming to Detroit to help Springfed Arts
launch the 1st annual Detroit Michigan Writers' Retreat, September 17
& 18, 2010. On Friday night, September 17, Lux, Smith, Troupe
and other acclaimed writers will be reading at the Wendell W. Anderson
Jr. Auditorium (corner of John R and Frederick Douglass streets) at the
College for Creative Studies. This event is co-sponsored by Center
Galleries at the College for Creative Studies and will be open to the
public as well as the retreat attendees. Springfed Arts will soon
announce the full line-up and the location of the Saturday workshops,
panel discussions and gala reception. The event is sponsored in part by
the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA).
